Rockport Reservoir - About 15 Minutes from Park City, Utah
It's a Drought in Utah, but Rockport Reservoir is Still Full
Get on I-80, and then take UT-32 toward Wanship/Kamas. After that, SR 32 will take you to Rockport State Park/Rockport Reservoir. There is a fee to enter the park. During the summer of 2022, Cedar Point Day Use Area is closed for renovation, but there are other places to launch all around the lake, including three dock areas as you first enter the park. If you're not camping or staying the whole day, you can just park in the trailer area of one of the docks and launch from there, which is what I did.

East Side is the Best
Because SR-32 runs down the west side of the reservoir, I preferred to paddle around the east side, just so I didn't have to hear sounds of traffic. It looked like there were some nice campgrounds on the east side, if you're interested in staying the night. Many of them allow direct access to the lake and people had camp chairs set up along the bank.

Water Levels are Normal
While many reservoirs and lakes in Utah are experiencing inordinately low water levels, due to the 2022 drought, Rockport Reservoir isn't one of them. As of now (7/15/22), Rockport is at 96% capacity. You can check the Utah Division of Water Resources for all Utah reservoir water levels.

Raptor Watching
Rockport State Park has Osprey platforms along the west side where you can see them nesting and feeding their young. You'll also get some good views of the Osprey soaring overhead in that area. I was lucky enough to see a Bald Eagle perched on some northeast rocks near the dam. I was wishing I had my good camera with its long-range lens with me but, alas, I had to settle for a more distant view.

Plenty of Other Amenities
Rockport State Park has camping sites that are open year round. They even have ice fishing in the Winter. There is a 3D archery range, and an easy hiking/biking/running trail that runs 2 miles, out and back - Rockport Lake Trail. They rent an Old Church for group activities, which I think would be lovely for a small, rustic wedding. Rockport is one of mine and Sissy's favorite Utah venues for a fun day on the water.
